The North Carolina Center for Reproductive Medicine/Talbert Fertility Institute is the premiere center for reproductive health in North Carolina and the East Coast. It was established in 1992 to provide advanced reproductive techniques to couples who dream of having their own child. The physicians of NCCRM are fertility specialists. One of our founders, Dr. Luther Talbert, is credited with performing the first successful in vitro fertilization (IVF) in North Carolina.
NCCRM is also credited with the state’s first ICSI and PGD procedures. NCCRM is always at the forefront of the high-tech field of Assisted Reproductive Technology. To date, we have helped thousands of families realize their dreams. We offer medical center-level care in a private office setting that is relaxed and easily accessible. Our state-of-the-art AAAASF-accredited operating room and CLIA and CAP-certified laboratory offer patients the convenience of staying in one facility. Our team of specialists offers a wide range of gynecologic and fertility services. NCCRM has been a member of SART, the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology, since 1994.
Our Extended Family
For over 30 years, NCCRM has been honored to add our patients and their families to a group we consider our extended family. As this extended family grows, we want to create a place where we can all connect, share stories, celebrate success, and help others find out how they can experience the same success.
Help Spread the Word
Infertility can be a personal crisis with many facets. One out of every six couples in the United States faces this challenge. At NCCRM, we try to minimize that stress by being sensitive to the fact that infertility can cause a couple marital, sexual, religious, and financial anxieties. Our practice takes a holistic approach to the treatment of our patients. We feel a private setting helps facilitate this goal. It provides confidentiality, individualized treatment plans, and total care within one center.
We invite you to put your confidence in our team at the North Carolina Center for Reproductive Medicine (NCCRM). Your initial visit will consist of the following protocol:
- Consultation – Couples meet with the physician for evaluation. Together, you determine the most appropriate treatment plan for the individual couple. You and our team review a thorough history, past infertility treatments, and future options available.
- Patient Education—Individualized information sessions are held in which a patient educator addresses the steps involved in the designated treatment. Consents, risks, complications, and injection techniques are discussed.
- Financial Coordinator – The financial coordinator will assist you with the most appropriate approach based on your insurance coverage.
- Fertility Work-Up & Management: Evaluation of the couple simultaneously can help Develop an accurate diagnosis. For details, please refer to the General Fertility Diagnosis section of this website.
