Dr. Henny Liwan is the newest member of the NCCRM team. She was born in Indonesia and went to medical school in Germany. She is a graduate of Georg-August-University of Goettingen. Her residency was at Sparrow Health System in Lansing, MI which is affiliated with Michigan State University. She completed her fellowship training in Advanced Female Pelvic Surgery at Northwell Health in Long Island, NY.
Dr. Liwan has seven years’ experience in female pelvic surgery, with special interest in abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis, fertility preservation, hysterectomy, hysteroscopic surgery, myomectomy, ovarian cysts and uterine leiomyoma. Prior to joining our team, she practiced in Marshfield Medical Center, which is one of the largest healthcare networks in rural area Wisconsin and Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
She is board-certified by American Boards of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. Dr. Liwan resides in Cary, NC with her husband, and enjoys baking, running, reading, and travelling.
Specialties
Dr. Liwan has specialized experience in a wide range of gynecological conditions, including treatment of pelvic pain and endometriosis, hormonal treatment of menopausal symptoms, ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids, premature ovarian failure, and abnormal pap smears such as LEEP and cold knife conization. She also handles a wide range of complex gynecological surgeries, including hysterectomies, endometrial ablation, hormonal IUD insertion, TVT midurethral slings for urinary incontinence, tubal ligations, pelvic organ prolapse repairs, and laparoscopic operations.
