1. Infertility Basics: Birds & the Bees
Presented By: Anne Z. Steiner, MD, MPH – UNC Fertility
Dr. Steiner educates patients on the clinical definition of infertility and the most common causes of infertility. She also introduces basic evaluation and treatment options.

2. IVF 101
Presented By: Susannah Copland, MD – Atlantic Reproductive Medicine Specialists

Dr. Copland provides a comprehensive overview of what patients can expect with in vitro fertilization. She covers everything from who is a good candidate to how the procedure works. Testing and procedures are also explained in depth, including medications involved.

3. Advances in Surgery for Infertility
Presented By: Tamer Yalcinkaya, MD – Wake Forest Center for Reproductive Medicine
Dr. Yalcinkaya educates patients on why surgery is needed for infertility conditions and who is a good candidate (both male and female). He also reveals the latest trends in minimally invasive surgery to help correct such issues, and describes the procedures.
 
4. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)

Dr. Toma presents an overview of how PCOS is diagnosed and what types of symptoms women should look for. He also describes how PCOS affects the reproductive system and what types of treatments are available for women who are trying to conceive.
 
5.  Adoption 101
Presented By: Parul Goetz, Co-Founder – Noah Z.M. Goetz Foundation
This presentation prepares couples for the process of domestic adoption. The talk covers the paths to domestic adoption and associated costs, as well as the steps to adoption and what to expect during a home study and matching process.
 
6. Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD)
Presented By: John Park, MD, MSc – Carolina Conceptions
In this presentation, Dr. Park covers what PGD is and how it’s different from Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS), as well as indications for PGD/PGS and how it’s performed. He describes embryo biopsy with genetic testing as a valid concept to improve the chances of pregnancy with a healthy child.
 
7. Third Party Reproduction
Presented By: Sameh K. Toma, MD – North Carolina Center for Reproductive Medicine
Dr. Toma educations patients on various forms of third party reproduction – eggs, sperm or embryos that have been donated by a third party source, as well as gestational surrogacy. He explores the clinical and legal considerations that are involved in order to prepare couples with what to expect during treatment.
 
8. Stress & Infertility: Mind over Matter?
Presented By: Sarah L. Berga, MD – Professor and Chairman, Dept of OBG at Wake Forest School of Medicine

Dr. Berga explores the topic of how stress impacts infertility and the research behind it. She describes the biological effects of stress on the body as well as how stress management reduces the impact of stress upon the reproductive system.

9. Recurrent Early Pregnancy Loss
Presented By: David K. Walmer, MD, PhD – Atlantic Reproductive Medicine Specialists

Dr. Walmer educates patients on the definition of recurrent pregnancy loss and the possible causes. Patients also learn about what’s involved with the evaluation process and corresponding treatment options, as well as the research behind progesterone use.
 
10. Male Factor
Presented By: Kevin P. Khoudary, MD, FACS, AUNC – Cary Urology
Dr. Khoudary presents an in-depth education about the prevalence of male factor infertility, the various associated conditions, and how patients are evaluated and possible therapies. He also explains related infertility treatments such as IVF with ICSI.
